Freeway Talks Diamonds in the Rough, Roc-A-Fella, more with MTV

Freeway was a guest on MTV’s RapFix live this week and during the visit he shed some light on a variety of projects and subject matters.

Speaking with Sway, Freeway drops some details about his upcoming album, Diamonds in the Rough. Promising that the album will be “crazy,” Free stated that the project is looking at a late November release and Free will put it out independently. Now if that is independently through Rhymesayers or independently through his own company has yet to be confirmed. To hold fans over, Freeway will be putting out a mixtape called The Intermission, with some new material premiering hopefully next week. More after the break.

Free also took time to reflect on the Roc-A-Fella breakup, highlighting the moment when he knew things were going to change.  During the Best of Both Worlds tour, Jay approached Free and Young Gunz at one of the shows and said “‘It’s gon’ be some changes, man. Everything’s not going to be how it was, but I got y’all, make sure y’all good.’” At that moment Free knew a things would not be the same. Still, Free emerged with love for his Roc-A-Fella brothers, going so far as to say he would even like a Roc reunion with everyone and he’s still cool with Dame and Jay.

Its good to hear that after the storm that was the break up, Freeway is still cool with the old Roc-A-Fella family. I think its safe to say we would all like to see a Roc-A-Fella reunion of some kind.

Check out the whole Rapfix, as Freeway shares his opinions on Lupe, maybe signing to another label, his film project and of course another Philly Freezer Freestyle.
