Sample Sunday: Art of Noise – “Moments in Love”
Sorry for not having done a Sample Sunday in a while, but I still got love for everyone! I remember this weeks sample from when I was little, and found it funny when it was flipped into something many of us can identify today. Welcome to Sample Sunday!
The Sample: Art of Noise – “Moments in Love”
A new genre of sample has arisen. Art of Noise is an avant-garde synthpop group from London that first formed in the early 1980’s. Interestingly, the group got their name from the Futurist manifesto “The Art of Noises” by Luigi Russolo(which seems like a crazy interesting story in itself, check it out). Through their career, Art of Noise was really hit and miss. I tried listening to some of their other music thinking it would be like “Moments in Love,” but it vastly differs. I guess that lead to their inconsistent success.
The Flip: Play-N-Skillz feat. Krayzie Bone and Adina Howard- “Freaks”
Coming off their 2005 album The Process, I really couldn’t find the sales numbers but I know for sure it got a lot of play and peaked at #69 on the US charts. Seems fitting. ENJOY!
