The Slice Extended: Rapsody con Queso

I had the opportunity to sit down with Jamla’s own, Rapsody. This North Carolina emcee hit the scene in 2008 after signing to 9th Wonder’s It’s A Wonderful World Music Group (IWWMG) and becoming a member of Jamla. With Jamla, Rapsody has released 4 mixtapes/street albums and her debut studio album, The Idea of Beatiful (2012).

Even before signing with 9th Wonder, she attended NC State where, in 2007, she joined Charlie Smarts, Tab One, The Sinopsis, Foolery and Ill Digitz to form Kooley High.

We talk college studies, motivation for writing, and what she does outside of the studio [hint: she’s an Inception type of person]. Keep an eye out for upcoming tour dates and She Got Game, dropping later this year.
