Talib Kweli – Rare Portraits [Video]

Kweli returns with another video from his “direct to fans” album Gravitas. Directed by Joel Clare, “Rare Portraits” incorporates a mix of long tracking shots of Kweli heading to the stage and footage of old memories from his long career. It’s only fitting, given the song’s autobiographical structure.

It all makes for a very interesting visual experience, as tracking shots, when done right, are always dope and long time fans will get a kick out the use of Blackstar’s “Definition” video and footage of Kweli and friends from back in the day.

Over at the kweliclub, they are now taking orders for CD and Vinyl prints of Gravitas. So if you feel like buying Kweli lunch, pick up a copy of the album in the format of your choosing. We do know that Kweli once again linked up with RA The Rugged Man to shoot a video for “Violations” Ft Raekwon not to long ago. So expect that in the coming week also.
