Wara From The NBHD – Kidnapped

Yo folks what’s good? Yes I know it’s been a minute and we have been slacking on our music delivery, but trust me, we are still in here!

Which brings us to Wara From The NBHD and his latest release Kidnapped. To tell the truth, I’m not in the know about Wara, He first peeked my interest a few nights ago while cursing Soundcloud and I came across his track “Case Closed.” From there I checked out Kidnapped and can say it leaves a dope first impression.

Kidnapped features a variety of street tales, stories of drug dealing and self reflection, but it’s Wara’s perspective and imagery that keeps things interesting “Maybe it’s the color of my skin, that crack rock beige” he spits on “Beige”, a song that also features the same drums Pharrell used on Jay Z’s “I know. Truthfully what engaged me the most was Wara’s used of pianos throughout the album. Wara, who also produced the whole album, loves to layer tracks with piano keys. They can be sparse like on “Case Close” or kind of menacing on “Scrilla”, either way, Wara does some great work with it.

I know the album is about a month old and some of you have heard it already, but for those late folks like myself, late a listen below.
